What books are in my to-buy list? | Dystopia

Image
A lot. A lot of books. There's a lot of books in my to-buy list. Although, I only listed a few books which I'm totally saving for without much doubt whether I'd regret buying them after I've read them. Also, the books in this list are of the dystopian genre only. I did my investigation and research for this. No turning back! I'M BUYING THEM! (Accio wealth!) (NOTE: It's very hard to buy books here in my country. You have to save for at least a month to buy three books at most. And that's the first world problem of every bookworms in my country.) So here's my SHOULD-BE-BOUGHT-BOOKS-BECAUSE-THEY'RE-AWESOME list:  1. Penryn and the End of Days | Susan Ee This series is a trilogy and I heard a loooooot of good things about this trilogy. What made me root for it most of all was the ability this book to kick asses. This trilogy is a bad-ass. And you know me, guys, I so love bad-ass books =)) Angelfall (Penryn and th...

Rise, Red as the Dawn | Red Queen Book Review

Image
Hi guys. I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog for many days. Which is lame considering the fact that I made a promise to myself that I'm never gonna leave this blog unattended. But school happened and life happened and there's no way out which left me no choice but to put my blog aside for a sec and come back when everything has settled.  Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo. It's semestral break here in my country and we're supposed to not go to school for a week. (Because it's a break. Ykr?) And because of that little mercy from the heavens, it gave me the chance to devour like a predator over my TBR list which had Red Queen on the top, considering that I was very excited to start with it because of all the hype I’ve seen on the internet. Laaaaaaaaa. Look at that elegant cover. No books can nail that but this book. Although I'm sorry to break this up to you but pretty covers can be deceiving. Very deceiving. (NOTE: Th...

Shadowhunters teaser trailer is out!!

Image
HEY YOU GUYS! THE TEASER TRAILER FOR THE SHADOWHUNTERS SERIES IS OUT! OMG. I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS SERIES (I JUST HOPE THAT THEY DIDN'T CHANGE A LOT OF STUFF FROM THE BOOKS THOUGH) So exciteeeeed mehehe. Add up to that the bad-ass-ness of the characters. Gaaaaaaawd. Clary is so hot. And Jace, too. OMG JACE! Such hotness. Perfect creature. And Izzy, too, and her fighter whip (I wish I could get something like it a few years from now XD). And Alec with his dazzling bow and arrows (what a lame way to describe such rebel weapons). And Simon, looking as innocent as ever.  Some of you guys might have not read this series yet but you have to know that this series is awesome. It comes in big books of six. Fat, large books which is so perfect. (Gawd how I love big books) You can watch the teaser trailer below. You better watch it in full screen or else a demon will come after you. May the odds be ever in your favor | The Hunger Games Review

Image
Aloha. Charlotte is back on track, bringing you one fresh book review.  So last week, I happened to have a reread of the whole The Hunger Games series and it was one hell of a reread. There was so much fun, thrill, and adventure altogether. UGH sweet series. (LITTLE INTRO. I have actually read this series, like, more than two years ago. I was still 13 at the time and it was in e-book form. Then I read it again after a few months because, I don't know. I just refreshed my mind a bit because when I first read the series, I wasn’t that enthusiastic; maybe because I was still too young to get into the story deeply or I was just suffering a reading slump. Ugh. I just don’t know. Last year, I kinda missed the series so I bought a boxed set but still, I wasn’t that interested. I even regretted buying it, thinking it was a waste of money and whatnot because, maybe, my first impression of the series has destroyed my mindset. Until, September came and I told myself “Gawd I really sh...

I'm awake now

Image
Uhhmmm. So. The last few weeks had been so hard and heavy for me. It was probably the most problematic days of my life. That's why my psychiatrist (me), told me to make a blog where I can pour out everything that I am feeling. And when I say everything, I mean everything. From the smallest bit to the biggest bit. I won't be afraid that people may see this post and use it as a judgment against me because for one, I don't care. I don't care. Haha. I don't care. Why would I make a blog if I hold back my thoughts? Duh. And besides, again, my psychiatrist (me) suggested that it would be better for me to have a release. Okay, shut up now, Charlotte.  Okay so here's my September story.  For the past few days, actually, I was already feeling the heavy burden on my frail shoulders (tho if you ask my friends, I don't look frail. I'm just using the words "frail shoulders" as a metaphor for my soul). Okay yeah. So again, for the past few days, m...

"Wake me up... when September ends"

I am probably the most depressed person right now so I'm sorry if this post is kinda dull because I'm not in the vibe to put embellishments in this post as of the moment.  This week was hell week. I swear. No week had ever been this hellish. Especially now that I am on the process of writing our research paper and it sure as hell sucks. Add up to that the fact that the deadline is on Monday. And f*ck f*ck. This type of thing makes me want to just disappear in the world and appear right back after all this will pass.  So yeah guys. I'm depressed. I want to cry but I can't. Gosh. I will never stop praying that this month would end already. I just wish that I could travel through time and skip this month as soon as possible. ASAP! I'm not sure of what I'm going to do to get over this already. I'm not sure of what I'm going to do to survive this hell but one thing's for sure. SEPTEMBER is FCKED UP.

He is my home | Anna and the French Kiss Book Review

Image
So this book. Aaaah. The feels. This book is Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. This novel is all kind of emotions mixed together in a collection of pages. I was laughing, crying, smiling, and swooning deep inside while reading this book. In total, I must have read this book, like, 5 times already. Still, the feels. Gosh. The feels never die. It's as if they regenerate every time to give me the same feels again. I can still remember the first time I read this. It was Summer 2014. Shame, really. Took me a very long time to read this international bestseller. So yeah, it was summer. It was actually a midsummer night's read. I started reading on midnight and stopped reading when the neighbors were already waking up XD it was 4 in the morning.  I swear, while reading this book, I really felt the electricity cursing in my veins. I swear. No joke. You can really feel it in your legs, your stomach, and your arms. And there are lots of parts in the book where y...

My First Book

Image
22 May 2015 The day I first had the book that opened up a gateway for me to obsess over book collecting.  This book is Eleanor and Park written by this one sassy author in the name of Rainbow Rowell. So this book was something that really touched me in my deepest parts. When I read this book, all my tears dried up and I haven't had a month's supply of tears then. It was a story about star-crossed lovers who were victims of unfortunate circumstances that hinder their love so much. It was one of those books that made me want to have amnesia so that I could just read it again and get the same feeling again and have my face smeared with those emotional tears again and then have my tear supply experience a tear shortage again.  So if you are an avid reader, and you love contemporary realistic young adult novels, this book is for you. Trust me, I'm a doctor. Lol jk. I am a bookworm. Though I act like a doctor because I give book recommendations and prescripti...
